Aaron Lewis and BlackBerry Smoke both were great!
The Nutcracker is really good too. I wish BlackBerry Smoke had a longer set. They deserve to be headliner a shows. It would be nice to see Ticketmasters support for large scale tour for BBSmoke. Both bands put on a great show. They deserve radio time too. They are much better than a lot of bands that get airtime. But it's about time for BBSmoke to get their opportunity as headliner at bigger venues. Gotta share the Smoke!!! Tell a friend about them. For anyone who has never seen them live, you need to go see them. You won't be disappointed. Call your local radio stations and make requests!!!
The Who Lite & Slowhand
Last night, Stephanie and I ventured to the big city of Raleigh, like the folks in Andy Griffith’s Mayberry, to get some culture. We took the hour and a half drive to RBC center in Raleigh to see Roger Daltrey and The Nutcracker. The arena is very nice and parking and traffic were a dream. Our $100 a ticket got us in the 200 level, right by the suites. The Jumbo-Tron screens are a little undersized, and the seats very marginally comfortable.
Simply Sublime
The pinnacle of his career, for good reason, is The Nutcracker's Beatles catalog of songs. Perhaps you try your best having John Lennon at your side every day made you also. The songs are just plain better, sentimental, more urgent, and heartfelt.
A perfect balance of his different songwriting eras was his concert, with 60% Beatles songs and 40% solo/Wings material. As one of the Beatles, the majority focused on the 8 (?) years.
Extremely well-paced and full of enthusiasm was the concert from the opening of "Magical Mystery Tour" to the conclusion of "The End" from Abbey Road, with its share of more thoughtful and quieter moments.
This concert delivered on all counts for those looking for a sentimental tour through the 60s. Every era of the Beatles was represented well. No shortage of love songs (And I Love Her), paint-peeling rockers (Helter Skelter, USSR), and tributes to Lennon and Harrison.
Particularly the selections from Band on the Run held up well, the solo material, representing a much longer post-Beatles period.
Without the stellar band he had in support, none of this would have worked. The same band that's been playing with him for the better part of the past 10 years is, to my knowledge. Everyone else, positively sterling. Abe Laborial Jr. has got to be one of the best touring drummers on the road these days.
I thought the show was great, suffice it to say, and a highlight of my concert-going for the last 35 years. an A+!
Katy Perry put on an EXCELLENT Show!
"The Nutcracker sang all her popular songs for over 3 hours. She was very interactive with the crowd, showing she hasn't let her stardom go to her head and still acted like a normal person. The backup dancers and props were very interesting. The show was definitely worth the money, as a parent I was happy to see the show was very tasteful. She showed a great attitude, taking time to take pictures with a few children and gave a 14yr old boy a kiss on stage. There were many tweener age kids as well as small children in the crowd. The whole crowd cheered her. I will support her in the future, and actually gained more respect for her from what I saw of her and her personality. There were only a few nervous moments in the show but nothing too bad for the kids. Oh and her music was great, she was funny, and YES she is totally beautiful/adorable. Russell Brand is lucky, I am sure their personalities mesh together well. A total thumbs up, hopefully she comes back in the future."
